On-Campus Housing

Services supports Carleton University’s commitment to achieving barrier-free accessibility for persons with disabilities living at Carleton. Our 12 residence buildings are connected by Teraanga Commons and the outdoor residence quad. Common spaces in the community include a large dining hall, fitness centre, games rooms, multi-faith space, community kitchen, Mashkikì Pakesàyà Medicine Room and the Black Student Hub. TV and study lounges are available on each floor.

The Department of Housing and Residence Life Services supports Carleton University’s commitment to achieving barrier-free accessibility for persons with disabilities living at Carleton. Every Residence building is connected by Carleton’s underground, heated tunnels. Most Residence buildings have elevators with the exception of Lanark and Renfrew Houses.

Attendant Care

Students who submit a request under a physical disability will be connected with staff from the  to further discuss their specific needs.   The program is available to students with various levels of physical disability and attempts to provide support to individuals according to their specific needs.  In order to provide comprehensive services only a limited number of program places are available each year.  Staff of the Department of Housing and Residence Life Services work closely with the Attendant Care Program staff to assess and accommodate these requests dependent on room availability.   Final room assignments are decided by the Department of Housing and Residence Life Services and the Attendant Care Program according to the level of physical challenge and support requirement to the available room accommodation.
